About HFUNY
The Hemophilia Foundation of Upstate New York (HFUNY) was formed in 2010 to be a source of support and education for the bleeding disorders community in the Rochester/Finger Lakes Region of New York State. Our founding members were a small group of volunteers who received their care at the Mary M. Gooley Hemophilia Center in Rochester, NY. They had a shared vision to create a separate foundation from the Center that had the ability to directly provide financial and resource assistance to those in need who have bleeding disorders within our region. This was necessary since the Mary Gooley Center is not able to legally provide this type of direct financial support to patients in need due to its status as a federally recognized Hemophilia Treatment Center with a 340(b) pharmacy program. HFUNY is 501(c)(3) non-profit organization governed by an independent board of directors.
